Kansas City Royals:
This team can be competitive.
Beyond the obvious superstar in the room—Bobby Witt Jr.—the Royals have an intriguing roster that could be fun to follow. Carter Jensen looks poised to eventually replace Salvador Perez, Maikel Garcia is coming off an incredible 2025 season, and Vinnie Pasquantino will look to continue his strong run of production.
On the pitching side, Cole Ragans should receive Cy Young votes, while Noah Cameron and Stephen Kolek will aim to solidify themselves with strong 2026 campaigns.
The Royals are getting close to contention. For now, patience is required.
Atlanta Braves:
Just stay healthy, please.
The Braves have been cursed by injuries over the last few seasons, but when healthy, few rosters in baseball are as talented or complete. Ronald Acuña Jr., Michael Harris II, and Drake Baldwin should keep this team firmly in the playoff picture—if they can stay on the field.
The rotation features two studs in Chris Sale and Spencer Strider, and Hurston Waldrep is a name to watch for a potential breakout season. I also love the addition of Robert Suarez to help stabilize a bullpen that struggled at times. Meanwhile, the signing of Jonah Heim raises questions about Sean Murphy’s future. A trade could be coming, and if Atlanta can add another starting pitcher or two, this team will be fully loaded for another postseason run.
Prediction: ATL 2-1
