Although it has only been a week, David Rubenstein has to be feeling some sort of buyer’s remorse.
Pete Alonso has been lackluster to say the least ever since his arrival to Camden Yards. The ‘Polar Bear’ (quite fitting) is hitting a measly .122/.203/.342 and has yet to hit one over the fence. It’s worth mentioning he has been unlucky. His expected stats tell a different story and positive regression might be around the corner. However, baseball is a game about results not hypotheticals.
Alonso has more than enough time to turn things around, but his weekly paycheck is not being justified with his level of play.
