How can you not love baseball?

Team Korea and Team Dominican Republic will kick-off the WBC elimination rounds this Friday and if you love baseball, you will be watching.

The DR has looked every bit as advertised during this tournament. They are hitting home runs left and right while dancing their way rounding the bases. Junior Caminero, Juan Soto and Fernando Tatis Jr. have led the way offensively for the Caribbeans in outstanding fashion. On the pitching side, they have been even better. Christopher Sanchez looked shaky to start off his outing vs Nicaragua, yet quickly settled down to deliver another one of the masterpieces he has accustomed us to. Bryan Bello was electric and although Sandy Alcantara was knocked around, this lineup is too overwhelming for opposing teams meaning they can afford to get away with a bad outing.

Let’s not forget about Team Korea though. The Koreans held the longer end of the stick after being a part of a three-way tie in Pool C. Bo-Gyeong-Moon has been sensational at the plate racking up a .538 AVG alongside a 1.779 OPS. The pitching, however, has left a lot to be desired. Korea will be trotting out former MLB pitcher Hyun-Jin-Ryu; not the pitcher you want on the mound when facing the Latin Avengers.

Although Korea can be feisty, I wouldn’t be surprised if this game ends in a blowout.

Prediction: DOM 12 – KOR 4
